FAQ Features

FreeHost introduces to Warbirds a whole new set of features. These include many new aircraft, controllable acks, configurable V1 missiles, commandos and several dot commands. Aircraft and dot commands are described in different sections.

Controllable acks:

Controllable acks, mostly known as human acks, are initiated by the ".hmack" command. When typed in the radio buffer, the user is put into a jeep ack (actually a tank) near the field at where he was. It fires 25mm gun and is useful for defending fields. To destroy human acks, one bullet of 20mm or larger is enough, although hitting one is hard.

To be able to enter a hmack, the field must be open and the user must not be under the hmack restriction period (used to avoid quick jeep respawning).

To exit a human ack you must "bail" out. Don't worry, hmack stats won't be counted in your scores.

Hmacks can move around the field too. To do so, type the direction (in degrees) you wish to drive in. Example: ".hmack 180" (to make your jeep drive South) and ".hmack stop" when you wish it to stop moving.

V1 missiles:

V1s are available from 1944 and are activated by the ".startfau" command. They can be launched only from open fields. Following that command comes the distance, the angle (zero is North) and 1 or 0. 1 is to watch the missile from inside, and zero is to only launch it. So the command is like this: ".startfau [distance] [angle] [1|0]". Example: ".startfau 18790 270 0" (sends the missile 18790 ft. to the West, without spectating the V-1's trip)

Commandos:

Commandos can only be launched over land from a JU-52 or LI-2 aircraft within 12000 ft from the target field. The commando, if too far from the field, moves closer to the target and starts launching mortar fire. It can destroy any type of structure, but has trouble with hangars, which require too many hits to be destroyed. They can destroy aircraft taking off at the field too, but this only happens by accident, since commandos do not aim at them.

There is only 1 commando per JU-52/LI-2.

Mortars:

JU-52s can land within 12000ft of enemy fields to lay mortar fire to help commandos. In a similar way to V1 missiles, the user must type in a command: ".minen [distance] [angle]". Example: ".mine 2567 180". There are limited rounds per JU-52.

The user may adjust the amount of rounds fired at once with the ".zalp [1-5]" command, firing up to 5 in 1 salvo.
